About Us
Here at SMCM we are dedicated to a collaborative process that helps anyone with the drive to succeed. The Premed Club is a space where all aspiring nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, pharmacists, doctors, and any other health care professionals can come together to celebrate the big wins while also helping each other through inevitable rough patches in your undergraduate journey.
We are so excited to be a refuge for all those striving for greatness at SMCM and we look forward to being a resource that helps you achieve your biggest and wildest dreams.
Reasons to join:
We hold biweekly meetings, where we discuss our tactics for how to get into various Pre-Health schools. This includes how to ace for prerequisite classes, study advice for entrance exams, and how to build your application for your chosen Pre-Health school.
Finding extracurriculars in a rural area can be difficult. We aim to help you find activities based on your interests that will also help you display your competency and preparedness for your given health field. Examples include clinical experiences, volunteer work, and leadership opportunities on campus.
Applying to Pre-Health schools can be a scary process. It's also a journey, not a race. SMCM Pre-Med club allows you to connect with other students with the same drive and ambition, fostering a community where we can have fun and enjoy the process of becoming future Health Care professionals.
Summer 2020
SMCM Pre-Med sponsored a fundraiser to donate perishable food items to local Church of Ascension food pantry. We raised a total of $900. Click here to read more.

The Execs have prepared all summer long to deliver content focusing on 1) starting the fall on the right track 2) how to maintain positive mentality in the midst of typical pre-med struggles 3) helping you build your resume. Click here to look at our calendar for these meetings.
